A Pair of Suspects Charged with Inmate Homicide of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins

A pair of suspects stand accused of murder following the death in prison of ex-Lostprophets frontman and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.

The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) have both been charged with murder and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, as stated by police authorities.

Watkins, 48 years old, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after confessing to numerous sex crimes which included the attempted rape of a baby.

Watkins was arrested after the execution of a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were confiscated.
